01

An African anchor as a structural advantage

Most of our raw material suppliers are African. This choice is deliberate, strategic and irreversible.

Africa concentrates a significant share of global plant biodiversity, centuries-old extraction know-how and agricultural chains whose valorization potential remains largely under-exploited by international industry. Folk Oils has chosen to anchor its supply on this continent — not to cut costs, but to build high-value, traceable direct chains that international trading cannot replicate.

Working with African producers in direct partnership secures an authentic, differentiated and verifiable origin — what your end customers and ESG teams now require as a purchasing condition.

02

Operational sustainability, not declarative

At Folk Oils, sustainability is not an annual report section. It is integrated into every operational decision.

  • Direct supply chains

Our partnerships with cooperative networks and African producers are based on multi-year contracts under stable terms. We do not practice opportunistic market buying. We finance predictability — for our producers and our customers.

  • Full valorization

Our plant proteins come from valorizing co-products of our oil extraction. Zero biomass lost. Every part of the plant becomes a high-value commercial reference.

  • Carbon traceability

We produce documented per-lot carbon footprint data for partners with Scope 3 reporting obligations, Net Zero commitments or EU green claims regulation requirements.

03

Measurable, verifiable social impact

Folk Oils works with cooperative networks whose members are predominantly women from rural African areas. These partnerships are not philanthropy — they are structuring commercial relationships generating direct, stable, multi-year income for producer communities whose economic sustainability depends on the quality of their outlets.

This social impact is documented, verifiable and available to partners who need it for responsible purchasing policies or SMETA, EcoVadis or equivalent certifications.

This is not a promise — it is traceability.

When you buy a Folk Oils vegetable oil or plant protein, you buy a raw material whose production fairly remunerated its source.

04

Our horizon

We are actively expanding our African supplier network — prioritizing high functional value species whose chains remain fragmented, opaque and undervalued by international industry today.

We invest in the analytical and regulatory infrastructure required for these African origins to meet the strictest markets — European, American, Asian — without compromise on specification or documentation.

Our vision is to make direct African sourcing no longer an exception in specialty vegetable oils, but a reference standard.

05

What this means for your company

Adding Folk Oils to your supplier panel means securing vegetable oil and plant protein supply whose sustainability and social impact are documented, auditable and directly usable in your own ESG reports, certifications and customer communications.

You do not have to build this story. We built it for you — and it is verifiable with every lot.
